Blackletter Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Oak Cabernet Oak Barrel Staves 750ml

Blackletter is a small batch handcrafted bourbon, ideal for sipping on the rocks, and an absolute gem in an Old Fashioned, Manhattan, or a Sidecar. A modern process of extended maturation and final finishing of Blackletter Straight Bourbon on our Blackletter Cabernet Sauvignon barrel staves, imparts an additional depth and richness we love. This final finishing and blending takes place here, in San Francisco, CA. Part of the unique and proprietary aging and finishing process has allowed for a better aged bourbon, that uses less wood, water, and energy to achieve its true craft flavor.

Tasting Notes

Finished with Cabernet oak barrel staves, this bourbon gains added depth and roundness. The mash bill-75% Corn, 21% Rye, 4% Malted Barley-takes on a creamy texture that enhances the sweet notes of butter pecan and toasted marshmallow, while smoothing the rye's spicy edge.  The result is a well-integrated finish with warm, pleasant heat and no harsh burn.
