Rare Character Old Cassidy Single Barrel Bourbon 750ml

Distilled and aged in Kentucky and bottled in Lexington, this release represents a deliberate selection of exceptional barrels ranging in age, with 18 year old Kentucky bourbon as the base of the blend. Each barrel was chosen for its unique contribution of flavor and character, then blended to create a bourbon that is greater than the sum of its parts, rich, complex, and harmonious.

Tasting Notes: 

Rare Character’s Old Cassidy opens with a rich, dusty nose layered with dark brown sugar, old rickhouse oak, cherry syrup, and a touch of white pepper, rounded out by soft floral tea and clover honey. The palate is full and viscous, carrying toasted sugar and crème brûlée alongside honeyed leather, spiced cherry tobacco, and a creamy blend of caramel and vanilla. A subtle brown‑sugar funk adds depth without overwhelming the sweetness. The finish lingers with warm pepper spice, tobacco, dried cherry, and gentle oak tannins, all wrapped in that signature “dusty” vintage character that makes this release feel both nostalgic and deeply satisfying.
