Tapatio Anejo Tequila 750ml

Tapatio Añejo Tequila is a well-regarded tequila aged 18 months in American white oak barrels previously used for bourbon. It has a spicy yet agave-forward profile, with tasting notes of pepper, oak, baking chocolate, and stewed fruits.

This tequila comes from the La Alteña Distillery, founded in Jalisco, Mexico, in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena, and is still owned by the Camarena family.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: The nose doesn’t give up much. Hints of both agave and creme brulee, but both are very light.

Taste: A mysterious nosing leads to a moderate wallop on the body: Agave hits you first, then red and black pepper. The silky smooth caramel notes come on after that, washing down the heat. Nice balance — though the finish lacks much secondary character — a definite anejo for the blanco lover.
