Whitley Neill Quince Gin
Another delicious variation by British distillers Whitley Neill.
This time they’ve added quince to the list of botanicals in their classic London Dry gin. This gin is a small batch distillation, produced in pot stills at their Birmingham distillery.
Whitley Neill Quince Gin is inspired by the travels of Frederick Neill, an ancestor to the current master distiller. Frederick journeyed through Persia, where he encountered many exotic fruits and spices, which he then used to tweak the recipe of his Greenall Whitley gin – including the tangy, sweet quince.
The gin includes botanicals of juniper, orange, lemon, orris bark, coriander seed, angelica root, liquorice and of course, quince juice and extract.
The finished product delivers flavours of soft stone fruit, complex spice, zesty citrus and an aromatic and pine-y juniper.
Herbaceous and fruity, this is a delectable gin, ideal for delicate cocktails such as the White Lady.
The spirit is bottled at 43% ABV, for a slight boost in flavour.
