Hinterhaus Calaveras Cask Finish Bourbon Whiskey in the Park
Hinterhaus Distilling crafts this bourbon at a 4,000-foot perch in California's Sierra Nevada, blending 4- and 5-year-old bourbons matured in new charred American oak. It's then finished in local ex-Barbera wine casks from the surrounding Calaveras County wine region, lending a distinctive red-wine character. Look for chocolate orange, plum and cherry cola on the nose, a palate of rich vanilla, cherry strudel and coffee with blood orange, and a long finish of ripe summer berries.
