Hakata Whisky 16 yr Sherry Cask Whiskey in the Park

A Japanese whisky distilled and matured in Fukuoka by the Hikari Distillery (founded 1912), made from a 100% barley mash with a portion fermented using koji for a savory, umami-rich character. Aged 16 years in sherry casks held in traditional and open-air warehouses, it shows caramelized coconut, oak and char on the nose with toasted creme brulee, roasted almond and white raisin on the palate. The 16-year expression earned 96 points from Whisky Advocate.
