Gold Bar's Black Double Cask is a straight bourbon distilled from a mash of Texas corn and Oklahoma rye, first matured in heavily charred new American oak before a second finish in former French oak wine barrels from Napa Valley. That double-cask treatment gives it layered notes of maple, toffee, caramelized molasses, charred oak, and vanilla on the nose, with a bold, spicy-rye palate carrying toasted cinnamon and tobacco. It settles into a soft, buttery finish touched with mellow cherry and sweet fruit.
