The time that this Bardstown blend spent in the Château De Laubade Armagnac barrels is quite evident, as the sip carries a refined aged oak note that balances well with sweet and spicy flavors throughout. The sip tends to ramp up in flavor with the nose being adequate but not at the same level as the palate, and especially the finish, which is the star of the show thanks to its rich notes of sweet and spice along with a nice aged oak component. Bardstown Château De Laubade contains a nice amount of spice that will appeal to rye lovers, however, its sweeter notes do a good job of keeping the overall sip in check, maintaining appeal to bourbon lovers as well.
